EATON —The Preble County District Library will host a variety of events in the upcoming weeks.
Kids and Families:
Comedy Magic Show
Magician Gordon Russ will kick off the Summer Reading season with his hilarious magic show! Children can bring a small “Pick Me!” sign to stand out when Gordon calls for volunteers. Gordon’s show will travel to all seven Preble County District Library branches to kick off Summer Reading.

Crazy 8s Math Club
The Eaton Library has a new program to get kids excited about math. The Crazy 8s Club is an eight-week program with activities like the Bouncy Dice Explosion, Glow in the Dark Geometry, and Toilet Paper Olympics. Crazy 8s is for children in grades K-2, and will be held each Tuesday at 6 p.m. from June 7 through July 26. Register for the program in person at the library or call 937-456-4331. Registrations will be taken until June 1.
Teens (grades 6-12):
Pokkén Tournament
Try the newly released Pokkén Tournament game for the Wii U! We’ll play tournament style, and the top player will win a Pokemon-themed hat! Everyone will leave with a prize, and we’ll have snacks during the tournament! Pokkén Tournament will be at the Eldorado Library on Thursday, May 26 at 4:30 p.m.
Teen Movie
Eaton Teens Grades 6-12, watch a movie and eat snacks at the Eaton Library on Tuesday, May 24 at 3:30 p.m. This month, we’ll see the latest in the film series from a galaxy far, far away.
Registration is required. Stop by the Eaton Branch or call 456-4331 to register. The movie will end at approximately 5:50 p.m.
Game Truck
Come out to the library to play the latest video games inside the state-of-the-art Dayton GameTruck in June. GameTruck is a full mobile video game entertainment center with high-definition televisions and a massive library of games for the latest consoles, including PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Wii U.
The GameTruck will be making four stops in Preble County the first full week of June:

Novel Discussion Book Club
Join us at the Eaton Branch of Preble County District Library for our monthly book discussion. This month, we’ll meet Thursday, June 16 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss “A Body to Die For” by G.A. McKevett. The Novel Discussion book club meets the third Thursday of every month.
Adult Crafting: Doodling
Whether you call it Zentangle or Zen doodle, it just simply fun! And relaxing! Start with a simple shape, repeat. Add a line, repeat. Continue until you are lost in the process. Bring a friend and join us at location or time that is convenient for you. Sign-ups are appreciated.

Healthy Living for your Brain and Body
Join us to learn about research in the areas of diet and nutrition, exercise, cognitive activity and social engagement, and use hands-on tools to help you incorporate these recommendations into a plan for healthy aging. We’ll have Jacki Williams from the Miami Valley Alzheimer’s Association at the Eaton Library on Saturday, June 4 from 1-2 p.m. to help keep our brains and bodies healthy as we age.
