Events planned at Art Center

EATON — The Preble County Visual Art Center has scheduled several autumn activities for aspiring and other artists to take part in.

Sept. 23: Unwind and Create (sunflower mosaicwith Peggy Schuning), 6:30-8:30 p.m. Unwind and create a work of art while having fun with friends. The Art Center provides all the supplies you need while you provide the creative spirit! These events are open to adults and teens. Those under 16 should be accompanied by an adult. Those over 21 may bring an adult beverage but will be carded. Call for additional information.

Sept. 24: Family Art (painting), 10-11 a.m. Parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, grab a favorite kid or two and enjoy time together creating cool projects that the family will cherish. This month the program will work on a canvas painting of cute little birds on a wire. Only adults helping children three and under are permitted for free. All others must join the fun.

Sept. 26: Ceramics Supply Demo, 4-6 p.m. Free admission. Items will be available for purchase. Ceramics supplier Cornell will be out at the art center and demoing product.

Sept. 30: Art Lab (owl collage with Kelsey Daugherty) 6-8 p.m. Not your grandma’s art class. Materials and project will be provided and the instructor will be there to help. Choose from a selection of papers to create a unique owl collage. All supplies included.

Oct. 7: Reception and Artist Lecture for Stitched, 6-8 p.m.

Join us for the opening of Stitched, an exhibit of regional textile artists exploring fiber in different ways. An artist talk will be presented at the reception at 6:30 p.m.

Oct. 8: Art-Tunes, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Pay what you can. Fun for all ages. Enjoy an interactive concert by John Kogge at noon fit for the whole family, then learn how to make “no sew” quilt pillow.

Oct. 14: Art Lab (sugar skull mugs with Erin Abney) 6-8 p.m. Not your grandma’s art class. Materials and project will be provided and the instructor will be there to help make a Day of the Dead inspired coffee mug. All supplies, inspiration, and instructor will be included.

Oct. 19: Create and Take (pumpkin painting) 1-2 p.m. Spend an hour with an instructor as they guide step by step through a fun art project. All supplies are included.
