Hunter and trapper training held

PREBLE COUNTY — Saturday, June 3, the Division of Wildlife District 5 held a training workshop for hunter and trapper education instructors at Twin Valley Rod & Gun Club.

The meeting was conducted by Chris Mangen, DOW Dist 5 Outdoor Skills Specialist, other DOW personnel present were: Matt Ortman, DOW Outdoor Skills Administrator, Brian Goldick, Dist. 5 Wildlife Officer Supervisor, and Brad Turner, Preble County Wildlife Officer.

Chris Mangen presented the Ohio Wildlife Licensing System (OWLS). Instructors will use the system to schedule classes, order supplies, report student information and final reports that will be required. Effective July 1, all instructors will be required to use the new tests and answer sheets. Student manuals and test were made available to those present.

This was the sixth and final training workshop to be held in ODNR/DOW District 5.
