‘Preble Roots’ to help market local products

PREBLE COUNTY — From homegrown produce to handmade jewelry and artwork, Preble County has a wide variety of farmers and artisans growing and creating their wares right here at home.

Preble Roots is a branding and marketing opportunity which allows local producers to market their products and show off their Preble County roots. Preble Roots is a cooperative effort of the Preble County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Preble County Development Partnership, Preble County Farm Bureau and the Preble County Chamber of Commerce.

A Preble Roots product directory is in the works. The PCCVB will be sharing with consumers the value of the logo in identifying Preble County’s locally-produced products. The directory will be in print, and will also be made available online.

The Preble Roots logo helps to identify products which are at least 60 percent raised, grown or produced in Preble County. Food, fiber, or the arts — all are included.

The most recent Preble Roots participants include Preble Clayworks & Apiary, 37 Acres Grass Farm, and Wesler Orchards & Farm Market.

Preble Clayworks & Apiary, located in West Alexandria, is operated by Amy & Judd Dillon. Reach them at 937-839-1612, or at [email protected]., or check them out at www.etsy.com/shop/prebleclayworks.

Cost is $25 annually, which includes listing in all directories and the use of the Preble Roots logo for one year.
