EATON — Eaton Community Schools will induct a fifth class into its Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday, Dec. 9. The ceremony will take place in the Performing Arts Center beginning at 5:30 p.m. The inductees will also be honored between the junior varsity and varsity boys’ basketball games.

The newest athletic class includes three individual athletes and a coach, all graduates of Eaton High School. This induction class consists of individual inductees who graduated in 1954, 1966, 1968 and 1969.

Those being honored this year include Tom Ferriell, Rob Decker, Dorothy Stoltz and Jane Harris.

Each individual athlete has had a brush with athletic competition at the collegiate level. Stoltz, the coach being honored this year, has made numerous trips to state competitions with her athletes. According to organizers, this induction class is the first to include a female athlete or a female coach.

The 2016 executive committee is currently made up of previous Eaton coaches who have taken athletes to state, Vanessa Garrett (volleyball), Richard McCollum (track), and Mark Silvers (wrestling).

The mission of the committee is to recognize the most outstanding athletes, coaches and teams who have performed at the varsity level for Dixon-Israel or Eaton High Schools.

Watch for additional information on the inductees in an upcoming edition of The Register-Herald.
