PREBLE COUNTY — The Southwestern Buckeye League recently announced its all-conference honors for the 2016 girls soccer season.
In the Buckeye Division, Preble Shawnee juniors Saylor Jewell and senior Riane Woodard earned first team all-conference honors, while Mariyah McKelvin of Eaton was named first team in the Southwestern Division.
Jewell received her third conference award, having been named second team all-conference in 2015 and 2014. Woodard has now received three first-team honors in her high school career.
Senior Hope Ballinger earned her third-straight second team selection, and Abby Bulach made second team all-conference for the first time.
Sophomores Bailey Downard and Nicole Sims earned honorable mentions.
For Eaton, McKelvin repeats as a first team selection for the second year. Senior Jessica Spitler was voted second-team all-conference. Sophomore Tyler Pittman earned her second-straight honorable mention, while fellow sophomore Emily Dungan was also an honorable mention recipient.
Preble Shawnee had a 14-3-2 season, one of the best in Lady Arrow history, and finished second behind Waynesville in the Buckeye Division with a 7-2-1 record.
Eaton struggled this season, finishing 5-13, and sixth in the Southwestern Division with a 3-9 record.
