NEW PARIS — The Village of New Paris will turn 200 years old on Friday, Aug. 18. The village will celebrate next Friday — 200 years after Aug. 18, 1817 .
To celebrate there will be cupcakes and ice cream at the park shelter by the basketball court. This is located by the old school at 115 North Spring Street in New Paris. The celebration will be start at 7:30 p.m.
According to officials, it will simply be a small gathering. The main bicentennial celebration will be held during the Apple Fest, which begins on Sept. 22, but the committee wanted to do something to celebrate the actual date.
