EATON — Breydon Boston, a member of the Summit Chiropractic White Sox from the Eaton Little League, threw a no-hitter on May 5.
Boston was throwing against the Indians when he went the distance, pitching all six innings and led his team to a 6-0 victory.
“I have never seen a kid in the zone other than that day,” said coach Scott Toller. “This kid is an awesome athlete but an even better kid.”
Toller said the coaching staff was prepared to pull Boston after five innings of play. He had already thrown 72 pitches and each pitcher is only allowed 84 pitches per game, per little league rules.
They asked Boston if he wanted to continue on the mound and he, like all great athletes, wanted to finish what he had started.
Boston entered the last inning with only 12 pitches remaining before the coaching staff had to pull him. The ace only needed nine though, as he retired the side.
He finished the game with 10 strikeouts.
