EATON — Mid-September through the first week of October has been a roller coaster ride for Eaton’s volleyball team.
The Eagles have had a three-match winning streak and a four-match winning streak. They’ve also lost three straight between their winnings streaks and are now currently on a two-match skid after falling to visiting Valley View in straight sets on Thursday, Oct. 6.
The Eagles had a chance to move into a second place tie with the Spartans in the Southwestern Buckeye League Southwestern Division but came up short, 25-13, 25-19, 25-11, on Senior Night.
The match marked the final time senior Emma McKinney and Stacia Weathington will play on the home court.
With the loss, Eaton falls to 12-8 overall and 6-4 in the SWBL. Valley View improved to 16-4 overall and 9-2 in league play. The Spartans also beat Eaton in four sets earlier this season.
The Eagles were scheduled to visit Franklin on Tuesday, Oct. 11, before traveling to league-leader Bellbrook on Thursday to close out the regular season.
Eaton earned the No. 5 seed in the upcoming Division II sectional at Lebanon and will begin tournament play on Wednesday, Oct. 19, against either No. 4 seed Valley View or No. 9 seed Stivers.
