Homeschool Hour: Alternative Energy
Learn all about solar power, wind power, and other ways to make electricity at the April Homeschool Hour. Open to all homeschool students and educators, this class will teach you about some of the latest ways our electricity is being generated. Homeschool Hour is on Wednesday, April 20, at 3 p.m. in the Preble County District Library meeting room at 450 S. Barron St. in Eaton.
Create, Explore, and More: family program
At the Eaton Library on Saturday, April 9, families can delve into our different creative and exploratory stations together. We’ll have heat-sensitive putty, a giant Connect 4 game, instant snow, and more! Drop-in between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. and have fun as a family!
Bernoulli Ball tween craft (ages 8-12)
In April, you’ll learn to make a device to levitate a ball in mid-air! See the Bernoulli Principle in action! The tween craft will be at the:

Celebrate the coming of spring with a unique craft at the Eldorado and West Manchester library branches. We’ll have refreshments afterwards. The Spring Make It-Take It will be at the West Manchester Library on Wednesday, April 13 at 4:30 p.m. and at the Eldorado Library on Thursday, April 14 at 4:30 p.m.
National Library Week Open Houses
See all your library has to offer during National Library Week, April 10-16. The West Alexandria and New Paris branches of Preble County District Library are each having an open house to showcase library services. The West Alexandria Branch’s open house is Monday, April 11 beginning at 12 p.m., and the New Paris Branch’s open house is Tuesday, April 12, starting at 2 p.m.
Earth Day crafts
Celebrate Earth Day with crafts at the library. The New Paris Library will have an Earth Day craft on Friday, April 22 at 11 a.m. The West Alexandria Library will be recycling old crafts left over from other programs on the same day at 12 p.m.

Teen Anime Club
Like anime? Teens in grades 6-12 can watch anime, try Japanese snacks, and make anime/manga inspired crafts at the Eaton Library. The next Anime Club meets Tuesday, May 3 at 3:30 p.m.
Super Mario Maker Challenge
Try out one of the library’s newest Wii U games: Super Mario Maker! Take our Course Maker Challenge, where you’ll design a Mario course. We’ll play the courses and vote on the best one. The creator of the top course will win a Super Mario prize box! Everyone gets snacks and prizes. Join us at the Eaton Library on either Tuesday, April 12 at 3:30 p.m. or Friday, April 15, at 3:30 p.m.

Teen Creative Writing Group
Local teens can spur their creative juices at the Teen “Write On!” writing club. We’ll have creative writing prompts, snacks, and you can talk with other teens about writing. You can share aloud, but you don’t have to.

Eldorado Library book sale
Throughout the month of April, check out the Eldorado Library for a large selection of fiction and nonfiction books, with titles available for adults, teens, and kids. The book sale will run during open hours, which are 12-6 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, and 1-4 p.m. on Saturday. All sales are by donation only with no set prices. Take what you like and give as much as you can, as all proceeds go back into the Eldorado Library.
Adult Crafting: Tussie-Mussie Holder
Design and make a Tussie-Mussie holder at the library’s April adult crafting programs. Fill it with flowers for someone special or keep it for you own enjoyment. This would make a beautiful Mother’s Day gift. We’ll be crafting at the:

Novel Discussion Book Club
Join us at the Eaton Branch of Preble County District Library for our monthly book discussion. This month, we’ll meet Thursday, April 21 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss “Circling the Sun” by Rebecca Paula McLain, author of “The Paris Wife” and “A Ticket to Ride.” The Novel Discussion book club meets the third Thursday of every month.
Be a Kid Again
Why should the kids have all the fun? Join us at the West Alexandria Library for a program to remind you of your childhood. On Tuesday, April 26, adults will have a chance to color with our adult coloring books at 5:30 p.m. We’ll have crayons, markers, and colored pencils for an hour of coloring.
Join us for the West Manchester Library’s inaugural monthly tea party. On Wednesday, April 27 at 3 p.m., we’ll have tea and a treat and discuss the latest books and movies. Make sure to stay for the adult craft at 4 p.m., where we’ll be making Tussie-Mussie holders.
