Humane Society seeking donations, adoptions

EATON — Adoptions have slowed at the Preble County Humane Society’s Pet Center, according to Pet Center representative Jo Ann Hofmann-Sandro.

“During pandemic time, people adopted dogs to fill a void in their life. Now, some of these dogs are being surrendered as people return to work and school and find dog ownership to be a nuisance,” she said in a recent press release.

“Some of these cute puppies are being surrendered as adult dogs. We want you to know we are and will remain a no-kill shelter. People who are looking for their special companion appreciate this and are drawn to our shelter,” she added.

According to Sandro, the public’s financial support “is crucial in helping these pets find loving homes.” The Society’s annual Holiday Fund Drive is currently under way. “Please support our 2021 Holiday Fund Drive to help save lives in our care,” she said.

Donations can be made to the Humane Society of Preble County, P.O. Box 72, Eaton, OH 45220, or on Facebook.com. Additional information can be found on the website at humanesocietypc.com, or for further information contact Hofmann-Sandro at [email protected].
