EATON — On Saturday, Sept. 24, the Preble County Historical Society hosted its annual Fall Gathering and Historical Days on the Farm.
Hundreds of community members as well as people from neighboring counties visited throughout the day, according to PCHS Executive Director Lisa White.
Highlights from the event included wagon rides which took guests on the trails where they traveled through time to visit with a Viking camp, historical corn shredding by Mark Corwin, historic tractors and farm equipment, a bank barn display, the civil war exhibit, farm animals, reptiles, and a 1920s Boy Scout encampment.
There was also live music featuring the Richmond Jazz Orchestra, Something Good, Neptune, Evelynn Rector and Preble County Line Band.
“We also celebrated the Hall of Honor 2022 class of inductees as well as awarded three new historic plaque recipients. The whole day was full of moving parts. The visitors were so excited to be there. The scarecrow contest was genius and we will continue to host that in the future,” said White.
