EATON — The Preble County Historical Society will hold its annual meeting on Sunday, April 9, at the Preble County Historical Society, 7693 Swartsel Rd., Eaton, beginning at 2 p.m.
All Preble County Historical Society members are invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served following the meeting and there will be an open house. The guest speaker will be Jeremy Bowles. Bowles is a World War I re-enactor/ historian serving the Dayton area. He has been re-enacting WWI since 2012, and as a member of The Great War Association (GWA) in Newville, Pennsylvania, since 2013. He is the Assistant Curator/ Lead WWI Historian for The Veterans Memorial Museum Foundation (Germantown). His presentation will focus on the American Experience during WWI. He will also bring artifacts from WWI that includes gear and equipment.
Once again the following service awards will be presented: Years of Service Award; Sara Swartsel Volunteer of the Year Award and Business of the Year Award.
