In a special recognition portion of the Preble Shawnee Board of Education meeting, the PS Board presented Elise Walker, three time OHSAA State Qualifier in the High Jump, with a certificate and recognized her for her accomplishments. Walker is a recently graduated senior of Preble Shawnee High School, where she was a valedictorian. “Starting next year we’re going to have student recognition at each of the board meetings. When I looked at some of the things we would recognize for, Elise [Walker] kind of popped out,” Superintendent Matt Bishop said. “She’s a three time state qualifier in high jump, also this year District 15 Player of the Year in volleyball — she’s just an outstanding student and athlete. She’s a great person. We wanted to, as a board, recognize her for her accomplishments.” Following her recognition, Walker posed for photos with board president Candi Fyffe.
