PREBLE COUNTY — Working ahead of schedule for a bridge rehabilitation project on U.S. 35 in Preble County, crews have switched traffic on U.S. 35 and reopened County Line Road to the north, Ohio Department of Transportation reported on Tuesday, March 31.

Contractors are reconstructing bridges located between the city of Eaton and the Preble-Montgomery County line, and northbound County Line Road has been closed at U.S. 35 since the start of construction in early February.

On Tuesday, construction was switched from the westbound side of U.S. 35 to the eastbound side, and while County Line Road was reopened to the north, it is now closed at the south junction with U.S. 35 for Phase 2 of the project.

Traffic on U.S. 35 will continue to be maintained with temporary signals, and motorists on southbound County Line Road will be detoured by way of Germantown and Enterprise roads through this phase of construction.

Brumbaugh Construction was awarded a contract for approximately $2.9 million to rehab the bridges on U.S. 35.
