Village of Lewisburg issues update on hours, operations

LEWISBURG — Following its council meeting on Thursday, April 16, the Village of Lewisburg issued a letter on its Facebook page updating citizens on hours and operations of various departments.

It reads, “Effective immediately, the Village Municipal Office will be closed to the public. The Village Office will remain open and available to conduct village business via telephone or email. For further clarification of available services, please see the statements below by department.

“Police Department — The Police Department will continue to provide 24-hour service. However, non-emergency business will be conducted by phone to limit exposure to the Police personnel and the public, please contact 937-456-6262 to speak to a Lewisburg Officer. Emergency calls will be conducted in the usual manner by calling 911.

“Fire/EMS Departments — The Fire/EMS Departments will continue to respond to emergency calls. The Fire/EMS Departments will suspend fire safety inspections and community public education. However, to limit exposure to Fire/EMS personnel and the public, we ask that if you have non-emergency business to conduct, please call 937-962-4640. Staff will come to the door and answer your request. If they are away from their desks, or on an emergency call, please call 947-456-6262, and dispatch will have Fire/EMS personnel respond. Emergency calls will be conducted in the usual manner by calling 911.

“Zoning — Approved Zoning Permits will be mailed to the applicant. Pending permits will continue to be reviewed. Questions or concerns regarding pending Zoning Permits will be handled via telephone. Please call the Village Municipal Office at 937-962-4377.

“Finance — Questions relating to utility billing and income taxes can be addressed at 937-962-4377, office hours at 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday. Please ask for Tammy Holley or email [email protected].

“Please deposit utility payments and tax returns/payments in our night drop located at the Village Office, 112 S. Commerce St. or mail to PO Box 697, Lewisburg, Ohio 45338. Income tax payments, as always, are due on or before April 15.

“Community Center — If you have any questions or concerns regarding your current reservation please contact Tammy Holley at the Village Office. There will be no further reservations at this time. We are monitoring the situation and will contact you if you have a reservation that needs canceled in the future.

“Public Works — The crews will be working; however, contact with the public will be limited. If you have any questions or concerns call the Village Office.

“Thank you for your continued patience as we work collectively to contain the spread of COVID-19 virus. This situation is unprecedented in our lifetimes and we are committed to following the rules, recommendations, and orders of the U.S. Government and the State of Ohio as well as practicing the guidelines presented by our health organizations. As this situation changes, updates and additional information will be provided through our social media platforms.”

The letter is signed by Village Manager Jeff Sewert and Mayor Marsha Jones.
