WEST ALEXANDRIA — Last week, West Alexandria Village Council came to the unanimous decision to purchase and install a composite bench in the east park before Oktoberfest, in memory of Carol Lunsford. Lunsford passed away on Wednesday, April 20.

Lunsford was a West Alexandria resident, graduate of the West Alexandria High School in 1959, a business owner, active in the community and served as mayor of West Alexandria for several terms.

Lunsford was a pillar of the community, not only in West Alexandria, but in Preble County. Council considers the memorial bench just a small gesture of gratitude to a memorable individual.

West Alexandria Village Council meetings are public meetings held on the third Monday of each month, at 7 p.m. at 8 Marty Lane in the EMS Building.
