LEWISBURG — The Lewisburg Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting celebrating the opening of the village’s Bicentennial Building on the village’s 104th birthday, Saturday, Sept. 10.

Mayor Marsha Jones explained how the village began its journey with the Bicentennial Building. “The village of Lewisburg took possession of this property during our bicentennial in 2018, to showcase history, visit and share memories,” she said.

Jones continued, “The building proved useful and with the assistance of Chief Fiscal Officer Susan Laux, a grant was received to purchase the property.”

Jones thanked Jacki Gross for choosing the exterior color scheme, John Barr with Anderson Pallet for donating wood used on the walls, Ron and Pam Baker for donating Twin Valley North’s basketball floor, the Bicentennial Square Committee members, and subcommittee members who furnished the space, Josh Harry for stripping and repairing the building, and Municipal Manager Jeff Sewert for his commitment to improve the village.
