WEST ALEXANDRIA — Twin Valley South Board of Education met Monday, Oct. 24, and approved a construction bid for a new bus garage and several upcoming trips and received the regular administrative reports.
RDA Group Architects, a construction company based in Washington Township, has sent its quote for the estimated cost for the new bus garage project.
Details of the bid included:
• Construction and Bid Documents, at no cost to TVS
• Architecture, $12,000
• Civil Engineering/Survey, $10,500
• Sewer and Water Line Extension, $8,400
• Structural Engineering, $2,500
• PME Engineering, $9,000
• Bidding $2,500
• Construction Administration/Quality Assurance/Observation, $13,000
• Reimbursable Allowance, $1,000
Total design fees on the bid were $58,900.
The board reviewed and approved the quote and looks to move forward with the project.
In other business:
• Principal Doug Dunham announced the students and staff of the month of September, those being Austin Burkett, Hailey Turpin, Trent Ray, Mya Hundley, Logan Mershon, Karsyn Roell, Jacob Ditton, Kyra Davis, Chandler Ulrich, Kiki Allison, Ryan McRill, and Hailey Young. Teachers of the Month were Nathan Clark and Jane Osborn.
• The board approved and accepted a donation from St. John Church in the amount of $257.50 for the Twin Valley South Lunch Fund.
• The board approved the Seventh Grade Camp Campbell Gard Trip scheduled for May 10, 2023 through May 12, 2023.
• The board approved an overnight band and choir trip to Cleveland, March 31, 2023 and April 1, 2023, to study music and musical art culture.
The Twin Valley Community Local Schools Board of Education holds a meeting on the fourth Monday of every month, at 100 Education Drive, West Alexandria, in the school Media Center, at 5:30 p.m.
