NEW PARIS — The National Trail Local Schools Board of Education met Wednesday, Dec. 7, for its regular board meeting, during which they recognized the students and staff of the month for October, November, and December, congratulated their student athletes, and received staff reports from faculty.
Recognized at the beginning of the meeting were elementary Students of the Month for October — K-Cooper Maish, 1st-Addy Tribby, 2nd-Bexley Arahood, 3rd-Roscoe Derr, 4th-Paisley Patrick, Specials-Treyvn Blevins,
The middle school Students of the Month for November and December were (5th grade) Jaxxon Gray, Aurora Short-Watson, Violet Couvutsakis, Payten Brewer, and Owen Koger; (6th grade) Octavia Dunn, Kaleigh Bishop and Lucy Brewster; (7th grade) Grady Davis, Kira Rutan and Lane Gebhart and (8th grade) Jasymn Collins, Aydin Stover, Corban Manlove and Madi Mann.
The high school Students of the Month for October were Pratha Patel, Jolie Kubesch, Blake Osswald and Amy Maglio. High school staff member of the month was Jack Ebersole.
The high school Students of the Month for November were Morgan House, Gavin Vance, Thelma Weldy and Adam Bechtol. The high school staff members of the month were Mr. Bryant and Mrs. Brown
The board also recognized their fall athletics students.

In other business:
• The board approved the National Trail Prom to be held at the 4th Floor Blues Club, on Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 7-10 p.m.
• The board approved a donation in the amount of $1,000 from Miami Valley Plastics to be used by the Success Liaison.
• The board approved a separation agreement with high school English teacher, Chad Stebbins, including all supplementals, effective Dec. 31, 2022.
• Superintendent Bob Fischer informed the board that National Trail, like every school in Preble County, was not awarded grant money from the OFCC School Safety Grant, an initiative passed by the Governor.
The board established Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023, as the date for the Organizational Meeting at 6 p.m. at the K-12 facility, with the regular board meeting to follow directly after.
