NEW PARIS — National Trail’s volleyball team lost in three sets to Milton-Union 25-13, 25-15, 25-15 on Saturday, Sept. 8 to close out the week.
Tristan Bowers led the way with 10 kills. Jaidyn Tout and Angel Bowers had 4 kills each.
Defensively Madison Hathaway, Tristan and Angel Bowers each had nine digs.
On Thursday, National Trail lost an extremely close five-set match to an experienced Mississinawa Valley team 25-22, 25-21, 27-29, 23-25, 15-3.
Offensively, Tristan Bowers and Lexi Stiner both had 11 kills, while Tristan Bowers also had 3 aces; Tout had 8 kills and 1 ace: Angel Bowers had 5 kills, 16 assists and 2 aces. Brooke Johnson had 19 assists. Defensively, Madison Hathaway had 24 digs and Angel had 22 digs: Lexi had 1 solo block.
Trail opened the week with a win over CCC foe Newton in a five-set match, winning 18-25, 25-19, 25-19, 18-25, 15-6.Defensively, the sophomore class led the way. Hathaway had 22 digs, Tout 14 digs, Angel Bowers 13 digs and freshman Jenna Petitt with 11 digs.
At the net, sophomore Tristan Bowers and Steiner each had a solo block while Petitt added 2 block assist and Lexi had 2 Block assist also. Offensively, Tristan Bowers had 12 kills, 12 assist and five aces. Steiner had seven kills, Angel Bowers had five kills and 11 assist. Tout and Petitt each had four kills an Tout added a pair of aces.
The Blazers were scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 11, against Franklin-Monroe. Trail is now 3-5 on the season.
