NEW PARIS — Friday, Dec. 23, will be Hall of Fame Night at National Trail High School.

The National Trail Athletic Hall of Fame Committee will induct its newest member, Kate Yeazel, between the JV and varsity basketball games. In addition, all past inductees will be recognized with free admission. The committee will also sponsor a 50/50 raffle this evening honoring over 50 years of National Trail athletics.

Yeazel graduated in 2011 and earned 11 varsity letters — four in volleyball, four in track and field, and three in basketball. In 2011 she was recognized as the Richmond Palladium-Item Athlete of the Year. She was All-CCC in all three sports. In volleyball she still holds career records for good serves, hitting percentage, and solo blocks.

In basketball she averaged a triple-double and is number one in career rebounds and blocks. She holds the National Trail record in the shot put and was all-regional in both the shot put and high jump all while being in the National Honor Society and an FFA Officer. She received a full ride volleyball scholarship to the University of Pittsburgh where she was 2nd team ACC and named to the ACC All-Academic team. After her college graduation she played professional volleyball in Europe, retiring in 2020.
