WEST ALEXANDRIA — On Thursday, Aug. 12, the Twin Valley South golf team played in the Brookville Invitational at Beechwood Golf Course.

Team-wise, the Panthers finished with 464 points, good for 12th place out of 13 teams. Individually, Nathan Osborn shot an unusually high score of 82, but still managed to be in the top 10 finishers, finishing eighth. Others who scored for TVS included: Chance Parks, 107; Noelle Bright, 136; Cole Petersen, 139 and Autumn Newdigate, 139.

“We’re still missing Willie Bowman, and won’t get him back from vacation until Monday,” said coach Darcy Robinson. “He’ll be a welcome addition to our team, as we begin head-to-head competition on Monday against Dixie.

“It was a long, hot day, but I’m still seeing great improvement in our players who have never played the game before.”

The team also competed on Friday at the CCC Preview at Stillwater Country Club. Only two teams scored for South, with a 42 and 66, but the Panthers did not place as a team in this 13-team tournament. Three teams are needed to qualify for team standings.

The Panthers’ golf team were scheduled to compete next on Monday, Aug.15, against Dixie at the Moss Creek Country Club. Results were unavailable at press time.
