WEST ALEXANDRIA — The Tri-County North volleyball lost three games last week to Madison, Bethel, and Twin Valley South.
TCN lost to Madison on Monday, Oct. 3, 25-13, 25-16, 25-10.
“We just were having trouble with team unity and getting back into the groove,” said North coach Melissa Stockwell-Wilson.
The Lady Panthers lost to Bethel on Tuesday, Oct. 4, on the road. North won the first set, 25-19 but lost the next three, 25-15, 25-17, 26-24.
“They played better and had some amazing gains, but the Bees took the victory,” Stockwell-Wilson said.
Thursday, Oct. 6, was a big match-up between traditional school rivals, Tri-County North against Twin Valley South, for the Panther Trophy. South defeated TCN, 25-7, 25-8, 25-22, and for another year the trophy will remain at TVS in the main trophy case.
In the three matches for North, Cassi Stinson had three kills, 57 assists, and 15 points. Megan Poling had four assists, 10 points and 26 digs. Gracie Douglas had three kills, three assists and five points. Taylor Schumacher had nine kills, one block and one assist. Jasmine McAdams had one assist, 10 points and 11 digs. Addi Pahl had two digs. Sara Harris had three kills, one assist, eight points and three digs. Riley Cruse had four kills, 23 assists, nine points and four digs. Kaila McGee had two kills, one block and one dig.
“Coach Wilson-Stockwell is diligently working with the North team and you can readily see her efforts paying dividends as they showcased their willingness to fight the entire match there in that final set,” South coach Leslie Roberts said. “We’re (TVS) thankful to come away with the three set win.”
For South, Abby Beneke had an ace, 17 digs, six assists and 12 kills. Emma Fergus recorded four digs and nine kills. Madison Wright had two aces, was 13-of-16 on serve receive, and 26 digs. Delaney Adams logged in two aces, was 7-of-8 on serve receive, and had 17 digs. Audrey Chesney contributed with two digs and four kills, while Mylan Crews had 15 digs, 22 assists, and three kills. Samantha Janecek had a dig, an assist, three kills, and a solo block. Sidney Mowell had an ace and five digs and Zoe Utsinger had a dig and one kill.
Tri-County North was scheduled to start the final week of the regular season on Monday, Oct. 10, against Preble Shawnee at home. Senior Night was scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 11, at home, against Ansonia and North will finish away at Tri-Village on Thursday, Oct. 13.
Twin Valley South was also scheduled to finish the regular season this week. South was scheduled to play at home Monday, Oct. 10, against Brookville, and Tuesday, Oct. 11, against Tri-Village. The final regular season game will be on Thursday, Oct. 13, at Newton.
