Soccer players earn All-CCC honors

PREBLE COUNTY — With the 2016 girls soccer season officially over for Cross County Conference teams, the CCC recently named all-conference selections.

National Trail junior Rachel Ray was named first team All-CCC, while senior captain Katelyn Othersen was voted second team.

The Tri-County North Lady Panthers are represented by juniors Hailey Thies and Megan Hemp, who earned first and second team All-CCC honors respectively.

Twin Valley South seniors Lacey Emrick and Abby Creech selected first team and second team All-CCC respectively.

North finished fifth in the CCC team standings, having a 2-4 league record and 6-5-4 overall record. National Trail tied with Twin Valley South for sixth in the CCC standings, each with a 0-5-1 league record. The Lady Blazers went 4-8-3 overall, while the South went 3-9-3 on the season.

Newton was the team champion for 2016, with a 5-0-1 record, and going 8-5-2 overall. Miami East, which went 4-0-2 for second place in the conference, finished 5-5-6 overall. The Player of the Year award went to Bryaanna Diceanu of Franklin Monroe, while Stan Fessler of Newton earned Coach of the Year.

Miami East, 4-0-2, 5-5-6

Franklin Monroe, 3-1-2, 8-5-3

Bethel, 3-2-1, 7-5-4

Tri-County North, 2-4, 6-5-4

National Trail, 0-5-1, 4-8-3

Twin Valley South, 0-5-1, 3-9-3
