Preble Shawnee, Eaton receive All-SWBL awards

EATON — The Preble Shawnee Lady Arrows dominated the Southwestern Buckeye League individual awards, as all starters of the Buckeye Division champions earned all-league honors for the 2016 season.

Ashlyn Hubbard and Allison Zornes earned first team honors in the Buckeye Division in first and second singles respectively. Sidney Quillen and Jane Feck were named second team all-conference in first doubles.

Alivia Reek gained honorable mention in third singles.

Quillen and Feck were first doubles champions in the league tournament. Zornes and Reek earned championships in second and third singles respectively.

Hubbard, along with Lauren Smith and Kristen Boone, were runners-up in the championships as first singles and second doubles respectively. Preble Shawnee repeated as team champions for the second year in row, finishing with an 18-2 overall record and 6-0 in the league.

For the Eaton Eagles, senior third singles player Allison Cave earned honorable mention All-SWBL Southwestern Division. Eaton finished the 2016 season with a 3-3 league mark, and 9-10 overall.

The Bellbrook Golden Eagles won the team championship in the Southwestern Division for the third straight season, with two tournament champions and three runners-up. Oakwood was a close second in the final standings in the division, with three champions and two runners-up.
