CAMDEN — The Camden Police Department made several recent arrests, one for possession of meth.
On Monday, Nov. 13, according to Chief Matt Spurlock, Kristina Barnett, 31, Eaton, was arrested for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop in the 7000 block of North Main Street in the village.
According to court documents, Barnett was found to be in possesson of methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia, after a traffic stop on a vehicle she was driving. After receiving Barnett’s consent to search the vehicle, the officer discovered the meth and a glass pipe in her purse. Barnett admitted the substance was meth and said she had purchased it “a few days earlier in Seven Mile,” according to court documents.
Other recent arrests:
On Nov. 8, Thomas J. Brush was arrested near the intersection of Main and Central in the village. According to Spurlock, Brush was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk, when officers approached him. After running his information, the officer found Brush had multiple felony warrants.
On Nov. 17, Renee Elkins was arrested for obstructing justice. Officers were in the 600 block of Rose Blvd. in the village, attempting to serve an active arrest warrant, which was a felony according to Spurlock. While doing this, Elkins alerted the subject with the warrant in an attempt to aide him. “Elkins did attempt to hinder police and was arrested for it,” Spurlock said via email. “If you are caught assisting a criminal from being apprehended, you are also a criminal and you will be charged accordingly.”
On Nov. 21, Michael Yates was arrested in the 600 block of Rose Blvd. on two felony warrants.
