MIDDLETOWN — Cameron Willis won the Middletown Invitational in a scorecard playoff against a talented field on Saturday, Aug 28, at Weatherwax Golf Course.
Willis shot a 74 to lead the field, going into the playoff when he sealed victory on the fourth hole. Overall, the Eagles finished with a score of 335, good enough for 10th best of the 22 schools in the field.
Sarah Willis also shot well, and finished with a solid 80. Trevor Pittman finished with an 89, and Sean Hodges ended his round with a 92.
The course was described as being “hard and inconsistent” by Assistant Coach Tim Appledorn, who said it was a good learning experience for when the team goes back in a few week for another tournament.
The weekend invite capped off what was described as a “pretty successful week” by Appledorn, as the team also defeated Monroe on Monday, Aug 24, with a score of 149-174.
