

EATON — The Eaton wrestling team continues to impress on the mats.
The Eagles improved to 7-2 after defeating Greenville 71-3 and Preble Shawnee 61-13 during a met they hosted on Thursday, Jan. 7.
Wade Monebrake (106) earned two pins and improved his record to 16-3 on the season while Brian Conard (113) went 1-1.
Other matches of note were Cameron Schmidt (120) who went 2-0 with a forfeit and a pin while Coleman Manning (126) scored a technical fall and a forfeit to move his record to 17-3. Brandon Weaver (132) scored two points and moved his record to 15-6 as Justin Welcome (138) had a forfeit and a major decision (10-0) to go 2-0 on the day.
Mac Altom (145) received a forfeit and won 15-1 moving his record to 14-3 on the season as Isaac Ilo (152) and Parker Wilken (170) both received two forfeits each. Drew Moore (160) was able to get back into the line-up and earned two pins on the day.
Spencer Reynolds (182), Kevin Melling (195), and Seth Bowman (285) all went 1-1 while Matt Todd (220) received a forfeit and technical fall to improve to 13-4.
“As a team, they continue to build and improve,” said head coach Mark Silvers.
Eaton will travel to Alliance for the Top Gun Invitational on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 15-16 before heading to Coldwater for a double dual on Thursday, Jan. 21.
On Friday and Saturday, Jan. 29-30, the Eagles will host The Sam Ridder Eaton Invitational and will be honoring Ridder prior to the finals.
