NEW PARIS — Preble Shawnee had a very busy week of baseball, winning four games in a row, including a doubleheader sweep of host National Trail.
Shawnee rallied in both games, winning 4-2 and 13-9.
On Saturday, April 23, the Arrows traveled to National Trail and in the first contest Trail jumped out to a 2-0 early lead in the first inning. Shawnee rallied to tie the game at 2-2 and eventually took the lead for good in the fifth, thanks in part to a couple of National Trail errors.
In game two, Trail scored seven times in the first two innings for a 7-0 lead, but once again failed to hold the lead.
On Monday, Shawnee suffered a 4-0 loss to Waynesville and fell 12-1 to Carlisle on Tuesday.
The Arrows got their first win on Wednesday, knocking off Northridge 9-5. Two days later, Shawnee took down the Polar Bears again, this time 8-1.
Preble Shawnee was scheduled to travel to Valley View on Tuesday and Tri-County North on Thursday. They will host Monroe on Saturday for a doubleheader starting at 10 a.m.
The Blazers, who are 7-3 over the past two weeks, looked to rebound when they travel to New Miami on Monday, April 25. They are scheduled to play Cross County Conference foes Tri-County North and Twin Valley South on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Blazers are currently tied for second in the CCC (5-1) one game off the pace behind Arcanum.
On Friday, Trail defeated Seton Catholic (Richmond, Ind.), 3-2.
