PS Alum signs with IU East

RICHMOND, INDIANA — Hunter Wilson, a Preble Shawnee High School graduate who attended Ferris State University the past two years, has signed a letter of intent to play tennis at Indiana University East starting with the 2016-17 school year.

Red Wolves coach Erskine Ratchford announced the signing June 23.

Wilson was a first-team all-conference honoree at Preble Shawnee during his high school career.

“The Red Wolves men’s tennis team is extremely pleased to have a solid player in Hunter added to the roster,” Ratchford said. “Hunter brings a powerful game with strong match experience, and he will bolster our team with greater firepower in singles and doubles. We look forward to having him ‘in the hunt’ with next year’s men’s tennis team.”

Hunter is the son of Julie Wilson and Micky Wilson. He plans to major in business.

“I chose IU East for the business program and the chance to play college tennis,” Wilson wrote.

Wilson joins Austin Gick of McCutcheon, Scott Radford II of Shelbyville, Mitch Boyer of Concord and Austin Clay and Austin Kenworthy of Northeastern in IU East’s 2016 men’s tennis recruiting class.
