Library launches digital sign-language service


PREBLE COUNTY — Preble County District Library, in partnership with RBdigital from Recorded Books, is pleased to announce the availability of Signing Savvy for Libraries, a comprehensive sign-language resource containing high-resolution videos of American Sign Language signs and other common signs used in conversational signing.

Under the “Language” section of, patrons of Preble County District Library have access to more than 3,000 videos of American Sign Language signs. Users can view large sign videos, build and share custom word lists, create virtual flash cards and quizzes, and build sign phrases. Signing Savvy also includes the option to print signs, browse and search.

“Signing Savvy is a great addition to the library’s extensive collection of American Sign Language resources, which include DVDs, books, and a videophone available for public use,” said Emily Hackett, PCDL Head of Reference.
