Democrats set annual picnic

EATON —The Preble County Democratic Party will hold its annual summer picnic Tuesday, July 19, 6-8 p.m. at the Eaton Youth Center (corner of Decatur St. and Seven Mile Dr.).

As usual, the party will provide fried chicken and drinks. Families are asked to bring at least one covered dish or dessert. Each family is also responsible for its own plates, cups, silver (or plastic) ware, or other eating utensils.

The agenda will include discussion of candidates and issues for 2016. Also, sign-up sheets for working at the Preble County Fair and in the Democratic headquarters in the fall will be available.

Those planning to attend should contact Stan Spencer by email at [email protected], or Ginny Weiler by phone at 937-452-1624 with a count of the number of persons in the group.

Democrats win fair seating bid

The Preble County Fair Board has awarded the bid for grandstand seating and ushering at the 2016 fair to the Preble County Democratic Party. During the 2016 Preble County Fair from Saturday, July 30 to Saturday, August 6, volunteers from the Democratic Party again will take tickets and provide usher duties at the grandstand during the fair.

A large number of volunteers is needed to cover the many featured performances and events in the grandstand during the week-long fair.

Members and supporters of the Democratic Party wishing to volunteer should contact Diane Keeler of Morning Sun at 513-796-0154.
