EATON — The Eaton High School boys soccer team grabbed its first win of the season blanking visiting Preble Shawnee on Thursday, Aug. 25, 6-0.
Eaton (1-1) was led by senior midfielder Danny Howard, who scored four goals. Sophomore forward Owen Baumann scored the other two as the Eagles raced to a 4-0 lead early in the first half.
“Not much to say about the match other than Eaton clearly overpowered us by remaining focused on the field,” said Shawnee coach Jeff Clevenger after the game.
Preble Shawnee was led by Luke Feck with three shot attempts, Cody Clevenger who had one attempt, and goalkeeper Austin Fields who made 12 saves.
“We continue to play by old habits and standards,” Clevenger said. “We understand that changing the culture is not easy and will continue to learn from our experiences and move forward.”
Shawnee was scheduled to travel to Madison on Tuesday, Aug. 30, before hosting Milton-Union on Thursday. Eaton was set to be on the road Tuesday at Franklin and will travel to Bellbrook on Thursday.
