Trail girls lose first golf match of the season

SAINT PARIS — The National Trail girls golf team lost their first match on a very windy day on Lakeland Golf Club on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

They came in second in the tri-match with Miami East and Urbana. Miami East came in first, just edging past National Trail by a single stroke, 196-197.

Makenna Jones ended the day with a score of 40, followed by Makena Laird with a 48 (a personal best), Savannah Abner with a 52, and Allison Burbaker with a 57.

The Lady Blazers did score much better against Urbana in the tri-match, 196-215.

Trail looked to rebound Thursday, Sept. 8, as they were scheduled to take on the Tri-Village Patriots at Highland Lake Golf Course. The Lady Blazers are now 6-1 on the season.
