NEW PARIS — National Trail’s boys’ basketball team suffered back-to-back losses over the weekend to see its record fall to 7-9.
On Friday, Jan. 27, Trail came out slow against Tri-Village, scoring just four first quarter points. The Blazers never recovered, suffering an 83-47 setback.
The Blazers trailed 21-4 after the opening quarter and 39-16 at the half. The Patriots extended their lead to 64-32 after three.
Dalton Mason led Trail with 14 points, while Gavin Richards led the Patriots with 18.
On Saturday, the Blazers were outscored 18-8 in the fourth quarter in a 61-50 loss at Dixie.
Travis Hunt, Peyton Harrison, and Mason each had 12 points for Trail.
The Blazers faced a deficit at the end of each quarter, traling 18-16 after one, 33-27 at halftime and 43-42 after three.
Trail is scheduled to visit Newton on Friday, Feb. 3, and host Tri-County North on Saturday. The North game will tip at 7 p.m. Prior to the boys’ contest, North and Trail’s girls’ teams will play, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
