Silver Sneakers: We are partnering with the YMCA, and bringing Silver Sneakers to the senior activities center. Silver Sneakers begins Tuesday, June 5 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Free for a limited time.

The Northern Connection “Lunch & Learn”: Kayla Thompson, Dietetic Intern with Reid Health will be speaking about food on June 13th. The Northern Connection is a partnership between the Preble County Council on Aging and the St. Paul United Methodist Church. Lunch is served at no charge (donations are welcome). Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at the St. Paul United Methodist Church, located at 301 E. Main Street in New Paris, Ohio. Everyone is welcome to attend. Flag Retirement Ceremony: Thursday, June 14. Speaker: GySgt. L. Christian Bussler, Flag Retirement Ceremony at 2 p.m., with a cook out from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. This is afree event. Bring your tattered flags to be retired before 1 p.m. on June 14.

HEAP: Provides a one-time annual benefit to your main heating source account. For example, if you heat your home with a gas furnace, a credit with a gas furnace, a credit will be applied to your gas bill. The HEAP program begins, July 1, and ends June 30.

SCP: Provides a one-time annual benefit to your electric bill, and/or for the purchase of fans and air conditioners. Visit your Community Action Partnership in person to apply for SCP or call The Preble County Council on Aging with any questions. The SCP program begins July 1.

Operation Street Smart: If you suspect someone you know is using drugs, or to learn how drugs are concealed, new nicknames for drugs and more. Check out this VERY informative class brought to us from Franklin County Sherries Office and led by Sargent of Special Investigations Unit. This is a free event on June 20, from 1-5 p.m. RSVP a must by calling 937-456-4947.
