Shawnee comes up short against Waynesville, 28-21

CAMDEN — Preble Shawnee’s football team fell to 2-3 overall and 0-2 in the Southwestern Buckeye League’s Buckeye Division with a 28-21 loss to visiting Waynesville on Friday, Sept. 27. The contest was the Arrows Homecoming game. Ben Hobbs rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries, while James Gibson added 54 yards and a rushing TD. Ty Stevenson, Travis Howard and Triston Engle each had 10 tackles to lead the team. The Arrows held a 7-0 lead after the first quarter and the game was tied 14-all at the half. The Spartans outscored the Arrows 14-7 in the third for the final margin. Shawnee is scheduled to host Franklin on Friday, Oct. 4 in an SWBL crossover game.
