Editor:

My name is Ben Myers and I am running for election as an Eaton School Board Member this November. I moved to Eaton in 2016 with my wife, Kayla, and our three children to start Gospel Light Baptist Church. After living in Eaton for only three years, we have grown to love this community and our schools. Our experience with Eaton Community Schools has been outstanding. It truly feels like home to us in just a short time.

As a pastor, it is my desire to help our community in any way I can. Before moving to Eaton, I served for over 10 years in full time ministry working with children and teenagers. One thing I have learned is that our future depends on what we invest in now. Investing in the lives of children and teenagers is vital to having a strong community. Our administrators, teachers, and staff at Eaton Community Schools take on a great responsibility as they invest in the lives of our young people.

One of the top questions families ask and consider when deciding where to live is “what is the school district like?.” We have been blessed in Eaton to have a great school district! As we approach another time of decision to renew our income tax levy, please consider the impact we can have by continuing to invest in our children and their education.

I look forward to serving our community as a school board member and ask that you would join me in keeping Eaton a wonderful place for families by voting “yes” on Issue 9.
