LEWISBURG — Help prevent a slump in the blood supply during the July 4, holiday period by donating at the Lewisburg Baptist Church community blood drive Thursday, June 30, from 3-6 p.m. at 608 N. Commerce St., Lewisburg.
The July 4 holiday period is a critical time to donate because of fewer blood drives scheduled, vacation travel, and holiday activities, according to Community Blood Centers.
All registered donors get the “Step Up to the Plate” t-shirt. Make an appointment online at www.DonorTime.com or call 937-461-3220.
Community Blood Center has a new online tool for donors to save time while helping save lives. Donors can now use “DonorXPress to complete the donor questionnaire before they arrive for their blood donation. Access DonorXPress at www.givingblood.org/donorxpress.
Donors using DonorXPress must complete the donation questionnaire on the day they intend to donate and bring a digital or printed copy of their Donor Pass to show at donor registration.
Blood donation requirements: Donors are required to provide a photo ID that includes their full name. Past CBC donors are also asked to bring their CBC donor ID card. Donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 years old with parental consent: form available at www.givingblood.org or at the Dayton CBC and mobile blood drive locations), weigh a minimum of 110 pounds (you may have to weigh more depending on your height), and be in good physical health. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) changes blood donor eligibility guidelines periodically. Individuals with eligibility questions can email [email protected] or call (937) 461-3220.
