GRATIS — Gratis Village Council held a special meeting on Monday, Aug. 8, to discuss budget expenditures and approve time-sensitive resolutions.

The first resolution approved accepted a bid submitted by C.G. Construction Service & Utilities Inc. for the village’s Bicentennial Park project.

It was determined by council the bid submitted by C.G. Construction was the lowest and best bid. The base bid submitted was $71,370. Council authorized Mayor Frank Davis to enter into an agreement with the company and be the director of communications between the two parties so both follow the terms and conditions of the agreement.

The second resolution approved the tax budget for Fiscal Year 2023. The budget was prepared and reviewed by council prior to the meeting. Fiscal Officer Teresa Spencer was authorized to certify a copy of the tax budget and send it, along with a copy of the resolution, to the Preble County Auditor’s office.

To end the meeting, the council went into executive session to discuss employment issues.
