EATON — The Preble County Chamber of Commerce, along with Mayor Joe Renner of Eaton and the Preble County Board of Commissioners took part in a ribbon cutting ceremony for Angel’s Heavenly Nails and Boutique, Saturday, Dec. 10.

“We’re here to help Angel finally get to celebrate her grand opening and open house,” began Executive Director of the Chamber Karen Moss. “Some people we’re saying ‘hasn’t that been there for a little bit?’ Well, it has but she opened during Covid, and we couldn’t do anything with that. Covid took enough from us, we don’t want to lose this too. So today we’re here to celebrate Angel’s Heavenly Nails and Boutique.”

Angel Ball, the owner and only manicurist of the business, also spoke to those assembled. “I just want to say thank you to all of my family and friends. You guys have supported me through this and I love every one of you dearly. I thank the Eaton community for welcoming me and how successful I have been here. I couldn’t have asked for a better community, and the surrounding communities as well. So, I am thankful and I pray that you guys will continue to support me and I will be here for a long time to come.”

Ball is originally a native of Miamisburg and opened her business there in 2008, but after 10 years of operating from her hometown decided to open an additional location in Eaton. Angel’s husband, Jimmy Ball, was a Preble County resident at the time of their meeting.

Ball was forced to close her existing locations during the Covid-19 pandemic, and took three months to renovate the 1100 North Barron Street location in that time. According to Ball, the building had stood vacant for 25 years.

“It was nice, but there was nothing. No light plate covers, no base-boards — nothing,” Ball said.

“I love it out here. When I first moved here, I told Jimmy, ‘Okay a couple of years, then we’re going back to Miamisburg.’ Now I go to Montgomery County and say, ‘get me back to Preble!’” Ball reflected.

Ball said her business has thrived in Eaton, to the point where she has been forced to close bookings in the past. “Someday, I hope to find somebody as passionate about my business as I am to come in here and help me. Because I could work another two, at least, nail techs full time.”

Angel’s Heavenly Nails and Boutique is located at 1100 North Barron Street, Eaton, and is open to the public for business.
