PC Auditor issues financial report

EATON — Preble County Auditor Lavon Wright recently released the county’s financial report for the month of February.

According to the report, during February, the county’s general fund receipts totaled $1,046,607.15. Sales tax revenue for February totaled $631,588.27 from December 2022 sales, local taxation came in at $25,459, charges for services came in at $11,289.81, interest at $84,785.23 and fines and forfeitures totaled $347.20.

One-mill conveyance receipts for the month totaled $8,468 and expenditures totaled $81,468.65.

Total general fund disbursements for February were $1,279,629.33, according to Wright. Salaries, public employee retirement system and Medicare disbursements were $585,611.73. Transers for the month included $48,268.88 to Job & Family Services and $18,016.27 to Ohio State University services, totaling $66,285.15.

According to Wright, the county’s general fund began 2023 with a cash balance of $9,137,957.30 and ended February with $8,572,493.60. General fund receipts for the month were up over February 2022 by $179,709.67. Sales tax increased $54,940.35, charges for services receipts were up $21,029.90 and interest increased $63,987.73.

Expenditures in February were up $92,640.44, with increases in supplies ($5,300.35,) and contracted services ($171,162.53.) Expenditures decreased in the areas of other expenses (down $20,943.40) and equipment (down $2,603.72.)
