Henny Penny Employee Foundation helping preserve history

EATON — The Henny Penny Employee Foundation (HPEF) recently provided a $5,000 grant to the Preble County Historical Society & Nature Reserve to help the PCHS document, digitize and properly store the current textiles in the society’s collection.

The overall collections “digitization” project was advanced because of this grant, according to PCHS Executive Director Lisa White. “This has enhanced our ability to be a teaching institute of history and its importance to our society. The overall digitization project with hopeful completion in 2024 will allow us to align our mission and the vision goal to celebrate our ‘year of sharing,’ White said in a press release last week. “The year of sharing in 2025 will allow the PCHS to share our entire treasured historical collection not only locally, but across our state, nation, and the world, digitally. This revelation will allow all who have ties to Preble County and Ohio history to enjoy and become further educated.”

“The textile project is just one of the many digitization efforts the PCHS Collections team is working on to better store and preserve local history,” White added. “A special thank you to the Henny Penny Employee Foundation for this kick start!”
