EATON —The Preble Players will host auditions for its upcoming production of On Golden Pond, directed by Bonnie Bertelson, on Saturday, April 1 and Sunday, April 2.

Auditions will be held at 2 p.m. both days at the Eaton Youth Center, 306 Seven Mile Drive in Eaton.

On Golden Pond is the love story of Ethel and Norman Thayer, a couple in “the twilight years of a long marriage, who are spending their 48th summer in the woods of Maine at their vacation home on Golden Pond. Their comfortable, long-established routine of fishing, picking strawberries, enjoying old mementos and listening to the loons call is changed when they are visited by their divorced, middle-aged daughter and her fiance’, who leaves his teenage son behind for the summer while they go off to marry and honeymoon in Europe,” a synopsis explains.

The director is looking for five adults (two women, three men) and one teenager/young adult.

Preble Players will present the play on June 3-4, at 2 p.m., on an outdoor stage, surrounded by nature using the pond at 6336 Guy Murray Road in New Paris (Cam Mahanaim) as a backdrop.
