LEWISBURG — On Saturday, April 1, the Lewisburg Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of Bratt Tasties’ second location, at 101 North Commerce Street in the Village of Lewisburg.

As part of the new location opening, Bratt Tasties will be adding lunches to their menu, serving Italian subs and cheeseburgers on Fridays, tacos on Tuesdays, and assorted dishes Wednesday and Thursday. They will be open for business from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, with reduced hours from 1 p.m-8 p.m. on the weekends.

“They have a passion for community, and children. We look forward to ‘Taco Tuesday’ and the delicious meals, ice cream and sweet treats and all the wonderful things you’re going to bring to our community. So, thank you. We’re glad to have you,” said Mayor Marsha Jones.

“The long story made short — I started this ten years ago making candy for my grandfather. It just progressed,” said Tina Wagers, owner of Bratt Tasties. “I decided after I quit my job that this is something I wanted to do. I opened the shop in West Alexandria, it’s been there 10 years.”

Wagers said many customers have inquired about the business’ name and its uniqueness.

“It’s Bratt Tasties for a reason. It’s for my sons. Their names are Brad and Wyatt, so, combine their names that’s how you get it,” she said.

Herschel Braughton, owner of Herschel’s Auto and Towing in Lewisburg, paid for all attending to help themselves to treats and goodies. “Let’s get her started right,” said Braughton, encouraging everyone to tell friends and family to support local business.

Bratt Tasties will maintain both locations and both are officially open for business.
