National Trail Director retires after 41 years

NEW PARIS — The National Trail Board of Education held its monthly meeting Tuesday, March 28, and recognized student achievements and the retirement of Dorothy Frist, Director of Food Service.

The board recognized Frist, who has worked with the district for 41 years, according to Superintendent Bob Fischer. Frist’s retirement will take effect July 31.

In other business:

•The elementary students of the month for February were Jaxon Liddy – Kindergarten, Avary Brummett – 1st grade, Hadaley Rehmert — 2nd grade, Levi Combs – 3rd grade, Lillie Burke – 4th grade, and Korbin Kennel — Specials.

•The middle school students of the month for February were 5th grade: Josie Fox, Killian Brewer and Mya Martin; 6th Grade: Jayden Rogers, Kinley Marker and Kelsie Schweizer; 7th Grade: Talon Bousman, Kai Merritt and Wyatt Gebhart, and 8th Grade: Caliber Davis, Olivia Day and Maya Palmer.

•Middle School Principal Jennifer Couch also congratulated Conner Wyatt for finishing 16th in his weight class for The OAC State Wrestling tournament. There were 56 wrestlers in his weight class.

•The next National Trail Board of Education meeting has moved back to Tuesday, April 25, at 7 p.m.
