Lady Bolts defeat Fairborn by seven runs

CLAYTON — Northmont’s fastpitch varsity softball team improved to 11-5 overall Thursday with a 10-3 non-conference victory over Fairborn.

Zoey Hodge pitched all seven innings, allowed eight hits, two earned runs with four strikeouts and no walks.

Leading the offense were Sam McGilton who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI and Jadyn Johnson, 3-for-4 with one run. Lacie Knick went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and one run. Emily Bole went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and one run.

Shelby Clagg went 1-for-3 and scored a run. Morgan Pendleton went 1-for-2 and scored twice. Sydney Strickland went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and one run. Cardie McCormick drew two walks, stole a base and scored a run.

Bailee Walters led Fairborn with three hits, two of which were doubles, and two RBIs. Rose McReynolds went 2-for-4 with one run.

Emilee Walters pitched two innings, gave up five hits, five runs, two of which were earned, with one walk. Hailey Webb pitched four innings, gave up seven hits, five earned runs, three walks and had five strikeouts.

Wednesday the Lady Bolts host second place Springboro and on Thursday travel south to face first place Miamisburg.
