Thunderbolts win three straight games

PIQUA — Northmont extended its win streak to three games Saturday with a 14-3 run rule victory in six innings against Piqua.

The Thunderbolts held a 7-2 lead after five innings and put the game away with seven runs in the sixth.

Nate “Bulldozer” Schommer went 3-for-4 with a double, three runs and one RBI. Nate Teller went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs. A.J. Conti went 1-for-3 with a run and a pair of RBIs. Christian Pendleton went 1-for-3, scored twice, and had one RBI.

Brandon Hoops went 1-for-2 with a double, one run and two RBIs. Connor Price went 1-for-3 with a run and one RBI. Jamir Ross went 1-for-4, scored twice, and drove in a run.

Andrew Shingler went 1-for-3 with a double, one run and one RBI. Chris Gross went 1-for-3 with one run.

Drew Carver pitched five innings, scattered four hits, gave up two earned runs with four walks and two strikeouts. Brady Lupton pitched one inning, gave up one hit with a walk and a strikeout.

With the non-conference victory Northmont improved to 11-8 while Piqua fell to 13-6.

Thursday the Thunderbolts scored a 10-4 non-conference win over Waynesville and Friday scored a 6-0 conference win against Beavercreek.

Dylan Allamon pitched a two-hit shutout against the Beavers with five walks and seven strikeouts.

Ross and Drake Sauber both went 2-for-3 and scored one run with Ross driving in a run. Pendleton went 1-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Teller went 1-for-2 and scored twice.

Conti went 1-for-2 with two walks and scored a run. Shingler went 1-for-4. Jacob Beck drew a pair of walks and scored a run.
