LEWISBURG — Sophomore forward Branson King scored four goals to help Brookville’s boys soccer team score a 7-0 victory at Tri-County North on Tuesday.

Junior Aden Metcalf added two goals and sophomore Oscar Gonzalez had one. Roman Whorton had three assists, Danny Mansfield two and Lucas Byrne one. Sophomore goalkeeper Ayden Cowens had one save.

T’bolts beat

Miami East

CLAYTON — Northmont’s boys soccer team opened the 2023 season Aug. 15 with a 2-0 victory at home over Miami East.

Sophomore Julian Bazile and junior Nevin Smith netted the Thunderbolts’ goals with assists by seniors Trevor Haire and Kymani Sanford. Senior goalkeeper Alex Hardy made two saves to keep the Vikings off the scoreboard.

BROOKVILLE — The Lady Devils soccer team scored an 8-0 shutout win Tuesday over Tri-County North.

Maddie Tarkany led Brookville with three goals with Grace Taylor and Molly Luebke netting two goals apiece with Jenna Wissinger scoring one. Taylor also had two assists.

2nd at Waynesville

WILMINGTON — The Blue Devils varsity golf team placed 2nd Monday in the Waynesville Invitational at Majestic Springs Golf Club in Wilmington.

Waynesville took 1st with a score of 169 followed by Brookville 177, Carlisle 183, Middletown Madison 186, Valley View 187, and Eaton 189.

Northmont boys

golf 5th at Troy

TROY — With consistent scoring throughout its lineup, the Northmont boys golf team took 5th place Monday in the Troy Invitational at Troy Country Club with a team score of 335.

Hayden Davis led the Thunderbolts with a score of 81 followed by J.J. Morgan and Ben Dawson, both with an 84, and Brady Canan with 86.

Tippecanoe took 1st place with a 309 followed by Butler 323, Troy 330, Northwestern 332, Northmont 335, Covington 342, Sidney 342, Greenville 348, Anna 355, Piqua 361, Xenia 368, Stebbins 386, Troy Christian 388, Springfield 389, and Graham 408.

Aug. 11 the Thunderbolts placed 2nd in the Schwab Invite at Beavercreek Golf Club. Hayden Davis led Northmont with a 38 followed by J.J. Morgan 41, Ben Dawson 43, and Jack Siehl 43.

Springboro took 1st place by virtue of a tie-breaker with 165 followed by Northmont 165, Centerville 171, and Fairmont 175.

CLAYTON — The Northmont girls tennis team played well Wednesday at all five positions and shut out Valley View 5-0 improving its record to 3-1 for the season.

1st doubles – Makayla Hibbard/Kennedi Robinson def. Karina Cofield/ Kylie Hall (VV) 6-1, 6-0.

2nd doubles – Bridget Scranton/Addison Wilson (N) def. May Renneker/Leah Adkins (VV) 6-0, 6-0.

In JV action, Ashley Weiss/Hailey Wheeler and Meleeyah Milliner/Makayla Blake each won their doubles match.
